West Hartford Police said the crash occurred on Simsbury Road near Timberwood Road. Ronnie Newton Three people were killed when two cars collided before dawn on Christmas morning, according to West Hartford Police. West Hartford Police and West Hartford Fire Department forces responded to reports that two vehicles collided on Simsbury Road near Timberwood Road around 6:49 a.m. Sunday, police said. Two of the vehicle's occupants were pronounced dead at the scene, according to West Hartford Police Captain Daniel Moffo. Another victim, who also received medical assistance at the scene, was taken to a local hospital, where Moffo said in an email, "Despite life-saving measures, a third resident was pronounced dead at the hospital. ' said. Simsbury Road was closed in both directions from Bloomfield Avenue to Mohegan Drive until after 3:00 pm, when the West Hartford Accident Recovery Team was on site investigating the accident, after which the road was reopened. In the past week, West Hartford has had five fatalities in car-related accidents, making it the fourth serious car-related accident in the past eight days. Around 5 p.m. Tuesday evening, 89-year-old Eugenia Yurowski of West Hartford was killed in a hit-and-run collision near the intersection of Main Street and Whiting Lane. Police are looking for the driver who fled in what appeared to be a white or light-colored sedan. On Wednesday evening, just after 5pm, a man was hit by a car on Mohegan Drive. Police announced the next day that the victim, Carlos Gallarza, 60, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, had died. A pedestrian was hit by a car on South Main Street near Memorial Road on Saturday, December 17, and was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. Do you like what you see here?
