2022 is almost entirely in the rearview mirror and the BMW Group expects next year to be just as busy. Latin America has plans to introduce 15 vehicles in the next 12 months, some of which will include his MINI. The automotive conglomerate hasn’t given details of the products it plans to launch, but we do know that 10 of them will be hybrid and pure-electric models.

Along with the announcement, some interesting statistics have been pointed out by the BMW Group. For example, his third of all luxury cars sold in Latin America bear the BMW badge. Additionally, one-fifth of BMWs and MINIs sold in the region are hybrids and EVs. More than 7,000 partially and fully electric vehicles will be sold by 2022, boosted by strong demand for the i4, iX3 and Cooper SE. A large iX SUV was also launched locally.

Latin America is an important manufacturing base for the BMW Group, given the presence of plants in the region. For example, the M2 G87 recently left the assembly line at the San Luis Potosi plant in Mexico, where the regular 2 Series he Coupe and 3 Series are also assembled. BMW also operates the Brazilian plant Araquari, which produces the X1, 3 Series, X3 and X4.

Looking ahead, the 5 Series will undoubtedly be BMW’s most important product launch next year. The eighth-generation sedan will arrive with his i5 model in pure electric in 2023, when both the X5 and X6 SUVs will receive Lifecycle Impulse.
