test
Dan Smith

The all-new BMW 7 Series.
You can't be an automotive reporter if you don't like driving. Again, not all vehicles are created equal. With that in mind, we've rounded up the 16 cars you're most looking forward to driving in 2023. Winning cars come from all segments and most price points, but as a general rule, cars that are fun to drive tend to be more expensive. There are also more EVs on this list than ever, which shouldn't surprise anyone. OK, enough jawbone. Let's go to the list. Here's what I sampled briefly and what I didn't. But here's what I'm looking forward to spending quality time with in 2023.

BMW i7

BMW is extending its winning streak by electrifying its entire range. The 7 Series is the Bavarian powerhouse's executive car line. i7 It competes directly with the Mercedes-Benz EQS electric sedan, but starts at a higher price of $119,300 versus $104,400. I would like to check if it is worth paying extra.
2023 Alfa Romeo Tonale - Beauty Shot
Alfa Romeo Tonale

Alfa Romeo Tonale

Alfa introduces a compact plug-in hybrid SUV to the Tonale. It looks as attractive and sporty as you would expect from a more affordable high-performance Italian brand. With 285 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque, Tonale is expected to deliver his 0-60 time of 6 seconds, but we'd like to confirm that with our own stopwatch.

dodge hornet

I also want to drive a Dodge Hornet. It's built on the same platform and shares many of the looks with the Tonale, including the R/T Performance version's plug-in hybrid driveline, but in typical Dodge fashion pushes torque to 383 ft-lbs. Up, a second behind Tonale's 0-60 time. Oh yeah, there will also be a GT Performance version and a Track Pack. Because it's America.
2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Amplify Orange Tint

Chevrolet Corvette Z06

The 8th generation Corvette is already an affordable exotic with incredible performance, but the new Z06 version is even better. With 670 horsepower on tap and his 0-60 time of 2.6 seconds, this car laughs off the $500,000 European exotic car for $105,300. Its 1.22G lateral load-holding ability is supernatural. Yeah we want to drive this beast.

Ferrari Prosanghe

Speaking of $500,000, Ferrari's first SUV might as well do something special with a starting price of $400,000. Purosangue's name means 'pure-blooded' – by chance Harry Potter called and he wanted the meme back – this crossover is an old FF front-engine 4-door AWD touring car It's very similar to, but taller.
2023 Honda CR-V

Honda CR-V

Honda renewed Popular CR-V crossover, and that's big news. Honda says midsize, but others still think it's compact. Honda updated the driveline with his 190-horse turbo his engine or his 204-horse hybrid. AWD is an option, but a continuously variable transmission is not. With up to 43 mpg in the city from a hybrid, Honda has his sights set squarely on arch-rival Toyota's RAV4 hybrid. We would like to make that comparison for ourselves.

Honda HR-V

Honda reworked 2023 subcompact HR-VIt's all new for next year, and the new model reflects that the subcompact market is no longer an afterthought. With a starting price of $23,800, the HR-V is affordable and designed to be competitive.
Lexus RZ front
The Lexus RZ is the luxury brand version of the new Toyota bZX4.

Lexus RZ

An electric SUV is big news, and this is the dual-motor AWD-equipped Lexus version of Toyota's BZ4X. Lexus estimates a range of 220 miles, system horsepower of 312 horsepower, and 0-60 seconds, which he projects in 5.2 seconds. With the usual refinement you'd expect from a Lexus in the interior, the RZ promises to be a satisfying ride.

polestar 3

We look forward to experiencing the Polestar 3 as we continue down the road of electric SUVs. It's the perfect blend of luxury and performance in Polestar's all-electric lineup. Depending on configuration, this compact electric SUV develops up to 517 horsepower and 671 lb-ft of torque, hitting 60 miles per hour in just 4.6 seconds or cruising up to 300 miles. If you don't want to drive it, we can't be friends.
2023 Toyota GR Corolla Morizo Edition

Toyota GR Corolla

It's hard to remember now, but there was a time when Toyota's Corolla was rear-wheel drive and popular with drifters.now 2023 GR Corolla It revives the same rebellious sport compact spirit. Starting at $35,900, this hot hatch delivers 300 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque from its turbocharged 1.6-liter engine, which he sends via a six-speed manual gearbox to all four wheels and a 5 Achieve 60 within seconds. Buy the right trim and you'll get dual Torsen limit slip diffs front and rear. What's your question?

Ford Mustang S650

Ford unveiled its eighth-generation Mustang (referred to internally as the S650) at the 2022 Detroit Auto Show. This may be the last gas-fueled Mustang, but this icon of American performance is far from finished. Even his 4-cylinder engine in the base makes 310 hp, and in the Mustang GT's V8 he can make up to 450 hp, or up to 760 hp in the top Shelby GT500. We are ready to give the old-fashioned growl another year to live in our hearts.
Porsche Macan EV - driving two
Porsche Macan EV

Porsche Macan EV

We've seen spy shots of the Porsche Macan EV. Reports suggest that the all-electric midsize SUV he may have delayed until 2024, but it's still on his list of cars he wants to drive in 2023. But the Macan has always been a fun ride, and we believe Porsche offers something extraordinary with this car.

Mazda CX-70

The Mazda CX-30 is a stunning improvement over the old CX-3, and the two-row midsize CX-70 (as well as the larger CX-90) are already superior to the CX-50 and CX-9. Known as the driver's automaker, its new platform and drivetrain begs for twisty mountain roads. There are also rumors of a plug-in hybrid driveline, which we really want to drive.

mazda miata

While we're talking about Mazda, the rumor mill is also discussing a second refresh to the fourth-generation MX-5 Miata. We are fans of this platform, it has been up and running since 2016 and has been updated several times. Now there's another update spy shot and rumors of a hybrid drivetrain coming, and we want to drive a Miata no matter what happens in 2023.

Hyundai Ionic 6

The next EV in the Hyundai Ioniq line is coming in 2023. The Ioniq 6 features an all-electric driveline with 340 miles of range on a full charge and the look of the fashionable four-door fastback coupe popularized by the German brand. Aston Martin Vanquish

Finally, we look forward to driving the new mid-engined Aston Martin Vanquish. It may appear in 2023 as a 2024 model, or a 2025 model. Have you heard of the mid-engined supercar part?Rumor has it that it will be powered by a hybrid V-8 sourced from AMG, which alone makes this car one of his top performers in the world. I guess. Sure, the price will be more than your home is worth, but come on, we know you want to experience this thing.
