The parade kicked off at the Berlin Olympic Stadium to mark the 50th anniversary of the terrorist attack on Israeli athletes at the 1972 Munich Olympics. Over 100 cars took part in a beautiful parade. It started with the lighting of the Hanukkah Menorah, which is on display at the Olympic Stadium, and then everyone got into their cars. The parade continued with a police escort leading the parade, Jewish music was heard in the streets, and the police closed the streets so that all the cars in the parade could drive together. As one young mother says, Tanya says: These are the very same streets where Jews were taken to concentration camps, and today thousands stand proud of their Jewish identity. As the parade arrived at the Brandenburg Gate, a lighting ceremony was held with the Mayor of Berlin and Senator for Energy Bettina Jarash. Yarash spoke of her joy in seeing people proudly happy, especially at this time of year when her family gathers. the parade was organized by a rabbi David Teechtel When Ruby Friedling.
