Johnny Depp and Amber Heard return to court to determine who defamed whom once and for all – and their witness list includes a ton of star personalities…who will have to speak.
With the trial set to begin next month in Virginia, just about every legal document is being filed for witnesses and exhibits … and reports say people like James Franco, Elon Musk and Paul Bettanyamong other things, will be taken to court and forced to testify.
Franco and Musk are on Amber’s witness list — this after Johnny alleged she had affairs with each of them during their marriage — and they’ll likely talk about it. so they won’t be there in person.
“Animal Kingdom” Actress Ellen Barkin is also on Heard’s witness list, as are representatives from huge organizations like Disney, Warner Bros, WME, the ACLU, and even the LAPD…who will mostly offer recordings she deems relevant to help her make assert his point of view.
For his part, Depp is asking Marvel actor Paul Bettany to testify on his behalf – Bettany was also involved in the UK libel case that JD lost…having old text messages they exchanged when read aloud in court. in this still here.

In case you need a reminder…the two exes are suing each other for defamation, and it looks like the judge is going to hear each of their claims all at once, which is probably why there are so many witnesses. /submitted evidence — they’re trying to bury this finally.
Today I published this op-ed in The Washington Post about women channeling their rage against violence and inequality into political power despite the cost of coming forward.

This specific defamation lawsuit began after Johnny sued Amber for $50 million over a WaPo opinion piece in which she called herself a victim of domestic violence…without ever saying her name. her at court.
Amber countersued for $100 million, and although each of them requested that the other person’s case be dismissed…both cases were given the green light to proceed.
Remember, this all follows a blow JD took across the pond…where he lost a libel case after a newspaper called him a “wife beater”, which a judge ruled true.
Despite that, he’s forging ahead in similar territory here in the United States…all in an effort to clear his name and get his career back on track. As you know, he claimed that Hollywood blacklisted him following the British decision… while maintaining his innocence.
The trial is due to start on April 11.
