Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor Attend Indian Wells Tennis Match After Reconciliation

Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor are back in the public eye.

The couple attended the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, California on Thursday where they were pictured sitting side by side after revealing their reconciliation.

Stiller and Taylor’s romantic relationship was rekindled after the couple decided it would be best if he moved back with her and their two children during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, as it would be the only way to him to see their children during confinement.

In May 2017, the couple released a joint statement to PEOPLE announcing their separation after 17 years of marriage.

Although Stiller and Taylor announced their separation, they continued to support each other and their family in the public eye, attending events with their children and at one point holding hands while out for To see the A pretty woman musical in 2018.

“I think we respect our similarities and our differences. And I think by accepting that, you can really appreciate someone more because you’re not trying to change them for you,” Stiller also said. Squirediscussing how her relationship with Taylor has evolved over the past two years.

After news of their reunion became public, a source told PEOPLE the couple hadn’t dated anyone else during their split.

“They’re the kind of couple that friends hoped they would get over,” the source said. “They never broke up. Ben had such a busy career for years. It separated them a bit. They didn’t spend a lot of time together. But when they did, it was always obvious that they loved each other.”

“Even after they decided to separate, they spent time together, just the two of them. They always had fun and enjoyed spending time together. They never even dated other people after their separation.”

The insider added, “When the pandemic hit, they decided to live with their kids. They’ve always been very close to their kids. They’re both great parents.”
