DL Hughley has called out Kanye West’s threatening messages towards him after the comedian criticized the rapper’s treatment of Kim Kardashian amid their divorce.
“You can tell when people surround themselves with real people. REAL people in your corner would NEVER allow you to threaten a man or his family, especially in a public forum,” Hughley wrote in an Instagram post on Sunday. “Health mental health is no joke… neither is the safety of a man’s home and family. #TeamDL #KingS–t.
The comedian, 59, also shared a screenshot of his tweet in which he insinuated that West, who suffers from bipolar disorder, should take medication to alleviate his mental illness.
“Mmmm! Isn’t it weird that #Kanye supposedly has all these goons that will kill for him, but none of them will get his prescriptions filled?” he wrote. “Here’s a thought while you’re about to kill me in Calabasas, how about someone go through CVS and get their Xanax back! Lol.”
Hughley also poked fun at West’s Yeezy boots, Tweeter“There’s no way I’m ever scared of a guy wearing #IKnowWhatDidLastSummerBoots!!! #TeamDl.”
Finally, the comedian went for the jugular, tweeting about how Pete Davidson was sleeping with West’s ex-wife.
“#Kanye!! It’s just a shame you acting like a weirdo won’t stop #Pete from smashing one!!” he joked.
West, 44, made a menacing statement during his latest Instagram tirade over the weekend, writing in a since-deleted post: “DL Hughley is a pawn Yeah I know a king not supposed to address a pawn but I address everything and find DL addresses So don’t talk about me or my children, I can afford to hurt you.
In a separate post, the “Off the Grid” rapper shared a video of Hughley passing out on stage while suffering from COVID-19, writing, “We’ve stopped letting practicing drug addicts be used by the leftist to Willie Lynch, our future black people with our own opinions are not allowed to speak in public.
“I’m the DL glitch God don’t love you You got no favors Your family hates you I’d hate to be tied to someone who was famously leftist Y’all gotta do better than DL This Ye Bring the real smoke baby.
The political commentator has spoken openly about his thoughts on West, 41,’s treatment of Kardashian and even claimed the Grammy winner harassed her.
“I think I’ve watched too many times when things like this have happened and a woman or someone isn’t believed. And then things get worse,” Hughley said during a interview with Vlad TV in February. “He’s stalking her. You may think it’s cute. If it was my daughter, I’d do something. I don’t think it’s funny.
“I think you can’t write such a good beat that you can do these things. And society laughs at it because they say, ‘Well, she shows her ass all the time and he’s this and he’s that. . “”
Hughley also commented on West’s mental health last August, saying the “Donda 2” artist blamed his struggles when it suited him.
“He’s not so mentally ill that he’ll talk about another group of people,” Hughley said at the time. “He’s talking about people he knows he can get away with, and then he’s not so sick that he’s trying a political form disruptor. He’s not so sick that he’s taking 5 millions of dollars in PPP payments, so it seems to be conveniently sick when it serves its purpose.
West constantly trolled Kardashian and threatened her boyfriend, Davidson, on social media after filing for divorce in February 2021.
The 28-year-old “Saturday Night Live” star has remained silent on the issue publicly, but his friend shared text messages Davidson sent West defending Kardashian and pleading to stop the threats. Kardashian and Davidson went Instagram official last week.
Kardashian was declared legally single from West earlier this month. They share four children: North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 2.
