Sounders vs LA Galaxy, Update: Chicharito Gives LA an Early Lead

Sounders 0, Galaxy 1: The Galaxy got on the board early when the Sounders defense gave Chicharito a little too much space.

In a holistic sense, the Seattle Sounders feel quite happy with themselves and join the game. There is no doubt how good the 3-0 victory over Club Leon in the Conca Cuff Champions League is when all together.

Unfortunately, I still have a persistent feeling that I’m a little depressed because of the shape of MLS. They last defeated their MLS opponents back in October, with nine unsuccessful league matches.

Like last year, the Galaxy is off to a strong start. One has surpassed the MLS Cup defending champions and the other has won 1-0 in a row in front of a hostile crowd of nearly 75,000. A little difficult is that the Sounders are not expected to have Nicolas Lodeiro and Raul Ruidías. Both are still injured.

  • The Sounders have lost only one of the last 14 games against the Galaxy and are on a seven-game undefeated streak against the previous Bogey team.
  • The Sounders started their regular season with consecutive losses in 2018, which was also the last time they made it to the Conca Cuff Champions League quarterfinals, which actually started 0-3-0.
  • After winning the first two league games of the season, Sounders’ non-winning game play at MLS has expanded to nine. This ties the franchise record.
  • Although he doesn’t play, Raul Ruidías has scored six games against the Galaxy, including one goal in each of his three meetings last year.
