Amber Heard’s lawyer now claims the actress was raped during her relationship with Johnny Depp, but won’t name the perpetrator

Years after Amber Heard first claimed she was a victim of domestic violence, her lawyer now claims the actress was also raped during her relationship with Johnny Depp, although the lawyer does not did not directly say that Depp was the author.

Lawyer Elaine Charlson Bredehoft made the allegations in an effort to keep cameras out of the courtroom for the upcoming trial in Depp’s libel suit against his ex-wife, Courthouse News Service reported. and before her marriage to Depp.

Bredehoft didn’t say Depp was the rapist, just as Heard didn’t specifically say in her 2018 Washington Post op-ed that the actor was the one who assaulted her, but both allegations have led to denials. vehement from Depp and his lawyers.

Benjamin Chew, Depp’s attorney, said Bredehoft’s allegations were ridiculous and false, calling Heard a “liar.” Chew told the judge in the case that Depp had no objection to allowing cameras in the courtroom.

Judge Penney Azcarate has the ultimate discretion to decide whether cameras will be allowed in the courtroom, since the defamation case against Heard is a civil case, not a criminal one. The judge noted that she would place restrictions on what can be photographed and filmed, however.

The Daily Wire reported in October that Azcarate denied Heard’s latest attempt to have the libel suit against her thrown out. It was the “Aquaman” actress’ third attempt to have the case dismissed.

Heard’s lawyers argued that the findings of Depp’s UK libel suit – which he lost – should be followed here in the US In August, Azcarate also ruled against Heard, writing to the At the time that the facts of the current case were not the same as those in the UK In that lawsuit, Depp challenged Heard and a British tabloid who called her a “female thresher”.

As The Daily Wire previously reported, Depp lost that case, largely due to difficulties in proving defamation cases. does not have abuse Heard – essentially he had to prove a negative And although a judge in the UK agreed that Depp was able to cast doubt on at least two of Heard’s allegations, he failed to refute his 12 other allegations.

Depp’s attorneys called the ruling “perverse” and “puzzling,” pointing to the mountain of evidence the judge appeared to have ignored in arriving at his decision.

“Most disturbing is the judge’s reliance on Amber Heard’s testimony, and corresponding disregard for the mountain of rebuttal evidence from police officers, doctors, his own former aide, other undisputed witnesses and a range of documentary evidence that completely undermined the allegations, point by point. It was all overlooked,” Depp’s attorney Jenny Afia said. “The judgment is so wrong that it would be ridiculous for Mr. Depp not to appeal this decision.”

Among this “mountain” of evidence, The Daily Wire previously reported, were surveillance videos, eyewitness statements, audio, photos and more showing that Depp was the real victim.

“One of the testimonies comes from Trinity Esparza, who was the janitor of the penthouse where Heard claims Depp punched her in the face. Esparza now wonders how Heard got the mark on her face that she claimed was from Depp, after reviewing surveillance footage from three days later when Heard’s sister, Whitney, pretended to punch him in the face, according to court documents,” The Daily Wire reported.

Additionally, evidence suggests that Heard attacked Depp while the actor was in bed and masterminded the attacks she claimed to have committed.

Unaware that members of Mr. Depp’s security team (including an 18-year veteran of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department) were only a few feet away, Ms. Heard falsely began shouting: “Stop hitting me, Johnny,” Depp alleged in court. “The interaction culminated when Ms. Heard made false allegations that Mr. Depp hit her with a cell phone, kicked her and destroyed the penthouse. There were multiple eyewitnesses to this prank.”

Additionally, Depp’s attorneys presented audio of Heard admitting to punching the “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor.

“I’m sorry that I didn’t, uh, uh, hit you in the face with a good smack, but I was hitting you, that wasn’t hitting you. Baby, you’re not hitting,” Heard told Depp in the recording. “I don’t know what my actual hand movement was, but you’re fine. I didn’t hurt you. I didn’t hit you. I was hitting you.”

Regarding the ongoing trial, Judge Azcarate noted that “the UK libel claim was based on completely different statements from the present case”.

Chew, Depp’s attorney, said Azcarate’s decision “didn’t seem like a close call,” according to Courthouse News.

The outlet also noted that while Heard didn’t name Depp in his Washington Post op-ed, he lost his role in “Pirates of the Caribbean” four days after it was published. He is seeking $50 million in damages. Heard counterattacked for $100. million.
